Cervical Collars are used to support your spinal cord and neck. Hard Collars are also called Rigid Collars. It’s main purpose is to prevent neck and spine movement. Different type of cervical collars are used in different neck conditions.

A hard collar is used to make sure that the spine doesn’t move.
These are used before or after trauma surgery, especially when surgeon want to stop the neck movement.
It comes in two parts with Velcro that can be adjusted in width as per requirement.
